“Um…really?” It was something Jackson kept mentioning—how much he wanted her to meet his mother—but there never seemed to be the right time.

Apparently, that time was now and she had to wonder if he even knew about it.

Rather than obsess or freak out, Savannah decided to be logical about the whole thing. After all, it was a given that she would meet Grace at some point. Meeting her over a facial was potentially less intimidating than doing it with an audience of Colemans around her.

“Please tell Grace that I am looking forward to seeing her at four, and if you’ll excuse me, I think I’m going to text Cash and then grab a quick bite somewhere before my next appointment.”

“My daughter Peyton is sending some lunch over and if you enjoy turkey clubs, I did order one for you.”

“You…you did?”

Nodding, Georgia bragged about how talented Peyton was and how all the food she had at her café was the best in Magnolia Sound. “Of course, I could be biased, but just ask Parker. The sandwiches are legendary. And because I thought you might enjoy it, I ordered yours with extra bacon, just like Parker’s.”

“Wow…thank you! You really didn’t have to do that. I’ve been sampling some of the little places around here when I don’t have time to pack my lunch.”

“Well, you’ve been a bit of a savior around here. And not just for Cash. Parker’s been getting a lot of requests specifically for your services.”

She blushed because she wasn’t sure what to say.

“I really do need to apologize for my behavior the day we met. It was just such a shock and…”

Savannah held her hand up. “Don’t worry about it. Obviously you weren’t the first person to react that way or the last.” She shrugged. “I’m kind of getting used to it.”

“Hmm…I’m probably the first one who fainted though,” she murmured and they both giggled at the memory.

“I can neither confirm nor deny that,” Savannah said as she reached for her phone, and that just seemed to tickle Georgia even more.

“Lunch should be here in a few minutes.”

“Thanks, Georgia. I really appreciate it.” Once she was gone, Savannah tapped out a quick text to Cash, simply stating that she was taking on an extra client and wouldn’t be home until closer to six. There wasn’t any need to tell him who the client was at this point, and depending on how it all went, she might not tell him ever.

Lunch came and it was delicious, and then her next two appointments were for deep tissue massages. By the time she was done, she almost wished that someone would give her a massage because her arms were so tired.

Doing a facial at this point in the day was going to be perfect.

Almost relaxing, really.

After taking a few minutes to freshen up, Savannah walked out to the reception area to introduce herself to Grace Coleman. She didn’t require anyone to point her out; she’d seen a lot of pictures of her throughout the years and knew she’d recognize her.

Although, the fact that Grace was the only person waiting in the reception area was also a big clue.

Smiling, she walked over. “Hey, Grace. I’m Savannah. It’s so nice to finally meet you.”

Grace stood and shook her hand. “Same here. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

It was on the tip of her tongue to ask for specifics but figured that was a little clichéd.

They made small talk on the way to the treatment room and she wasn’t sure which of them was going to break the ice with a mention of either Jackson or Cash.

“I appreciate you getting Cash back here to spend time with the boys,” Grace said as Savannah began cleansing her skin.

Doing her best to stay focused on her task, she smiled. “There was no way he could make the drive alone—like he wanted—and he didn’t want to fly.”

“How come?”

“That’s how he came back to Seattle the last time and he said it was the worst way to travel. Apparently, he likes road trips and seeing the country from the ground.” Pausing, she added, “He said he wanted to see it all one last time.”

“Did he ever tell you how much his parents hated traveling?” Grace asked, looking completely serene as Savannah continued to work her magic.
