“What is this about kink clubs?”Leo asked as he came up behind Talia and placed his hands on her shoulders, rubbing them slightly.

“You didn’t tell me Beckett is a sex god,” she said as she looked up at him and both the guys burst out laughing.

“Wow, we are not leaving you two alone again,” Beckett said as he leaned over to kiss me.

“Talia, love, I hate to break it to you, but I’ve never fucked Beckett, so it would be hard for me to share that information with you.”

She pushed him away and turned in her seat, “Not that, you perv, I mean The Pendulum. Why didn’t you tell me he owns a kink club?”

“Technically, we own a kink club,’ he said, looking down at me and reaching for my hand.Raven may be my baby girl but she is the new madam of the club.”

I rolled my eyes.“So he says.”

“Did you have enough to eat?Leo and I have some things we want to discuss with you two.”

I looked at Talia, and she made a face.We could both tell whatever was about to happen was something we weren’t going to like.I took the last couple bites of my sandwich and Beckett reached for my plate, taking it to the sink to wash it.I loved when he did little things like that for me, knowing damn well he did them by choice, not obligation.

“Come on, let’s head to the living room,” Leo said as Talia stood and reached for his hand.

I guess he must have told Beckett what was going on and assumed Talia had told me.It’s not like either of us kept secrets from each other, and it was nice to see her with him.I hadn’t been around them for much more than an hour, but I could already tell there was a bond between them similar to mine and Beckett’s.Talia may not have gotten the happily ever after she had hoped for from the auction, but it looked like she was well on her way to one now.

Beckett started talking as soon as we were all settled into the oversized couch.“You’re not going to like to hear this, but we are heading back to the city in the morning.Leo and Talia have to get someplace safer than here for a while.”

I looked at Talia, who was looking up at Leo.He just gave her a small nod.“It’s not like we want to separate the two of you, but until I have Miles taken care of, it’s too much of a risk to have you both together.I’d never forgive myself if something happened because we didn’t take every precaution to keep you both safe.”

“But where will you go?”

“We’ll start in Italy.I’ll make sure Talia has a phone when we get there, but you can’t talk about places we are or things we see. We’ll have to move around a bit and even with burner phones, there is always a risk.No social media, no email.Just phone calls for now.”

I looked over at Beckett.“For how long?”

“Until we… extinguish the threat.”

“Are you talking about killing him?”I asked in shock.

It wasn’t Beckett’s response that caught my attention, though. It was Talia’s.

“I hope so,” she said in a quiet voice that didn’t even sound like her own.

I looked over and saw the tears were back, but this time Leo pulled her to his chest and she held on to him for dear life.I hated that we were going to be apart again, but with one look I could tell she was in good hands. If Leo wasn’t already in love with her, he was well on his way and my sweet friend was enamored with him.

“So less than twenty-four hours?”I asked, turning back to Beckett.

He nodded, “Yes, baby girl.I’m sorry, I knew this would be short-lived, but I also knew how badly you wanted to see Talia.”

I leaned into him and gave him a soft kiss.“Thank you.”

Forever

Beckett

LeoandIleftTalia and Raven to do whatever they wanted for the rest of the day.It had been months since they had seen each other and the level of talking and crying and laughing and screaming was well above my normal tolerance level.I spent most of the day in the office with him while we made arrangements with different contacts for safe houses and for dealing with Miles.Killing him wasn’t a simple task, even though it was the endgame. We’d get there eventually, but now we needed enough dirt on him to get him arrested.Once he got to prison, Noah would take care of the rest.Leo’s only job now was keeping Talia safe until we could get Miles behind bars.As the day went on, he was getting paranoid about being in one place for too long.I couldn’t blame him.If the roles were reversed and Raven’s life was at risk, I’d be crawling out of my skin.

“I’m starving.Do you think they will stop talking long enough to eat dinner?”

“Probably not unless we make them,” I said, pushing back from my desk.

“I’ll boil some pasta and make a salad. Why don’t you see if you can pry the two of them apart long enough to come to the kitchen and eat?”
