"What do you mean by hit and run?"

Max lifted a hand. "I've got this. While Eric and Darlene were getting it on in their bedroom, I was in another room, getting in the mood. The doors were open, so I knew when to dash in, do my part, and dash out."

"Well." Negal rubbed the back of his neck. "That's definitely not something I've ever done, but I'm willing to give it a try. After all, it's for a good cause, right?" He turned to Gilbert. "Are you sure that my venom is the best thing for your mate?"

"Yes. And there are other benefits." He swallowed. "You can thrall us not to see you, which other immortals can't do. Well, they can thrall Karen because she's still human, but not me, and I'm the one with the jealousy problem. Hopefully, that will make chaining me to the bed unnecessary. It will also make it easier for Karen."

"I can definitely do that," Negal said. "And even without the thrall no chains are needed. You are no match for me."

"He's right about that," Max murmured. "I've seen him in action." He looked at Negal. "You are as strong as the Kra-ell, right?"

Negal nodded. "After the rebellion, the gods decided to enhance future generations so we wouldn't be defenseless against the Kra-ell."

"Makes sense." Max emptied the rest of his drink down his throat and lifted the empty glass to signal to Bob that he needed a refill.

"One more thing." Gilbert cleared his throat. "Do you need a partner to get in a mood, or can you take care of it by yourself?"

Negal didn't like pleasuring himself when there were plenty of females available, but he wasn't a stranger to that form of release either. When they'd trekked through Tibet, there hadn't been any suitable partners.

Perhaps he could find a lady who wouldn't mind him leaving in the middle to bite someone else?

Nah, it was better to do it the way Max had. He could always seek a companion after he was done with his good deed.

"I can use my imagination to get in the mood. When do you want to do this?"

"Does tomorrow work for you?" Gilbert asked. "We can do it after Brundar and Callie's wedding. Our teenage daughter will be babysitting her younger siblings in another cabin, so we will have all the privacy we need."

"Good plan. I'll leave the party when you do and follow you to your cabin."

"Thank you." Gilbert offered him his hand. "Your help means a lot to me and my mate. Your venom is her best chance of survival."

Dagor

"I'm finally done." Dagor clutched the phone to his ear. "Do you want to meet me for lunch in the dining hall?"

"Do we have time for a quickie?" Frankie asked.

Dagor's steps faltered. "That's worth skipping lunch for."

"I don't want you to go hungry. Not if you need to fight later. Can't we do both?"

"I have target practice in an hour."

There was a moment of silence. "That's plenty of time. We can have a twenty-minute quickie and then get lunch."

"If I bite you, you'll be out. I have a better idea. I'll stop by the dining hall, fill up two plates, and bring them up to the cabin. We will eat first and then make love."

"Works for me. I'll put on something sexy."

He groaned. "You're killing me, Frankie. Tell me what you are going to wear."

She laughed. "I'd better not, or you'll be sporting a tent while picking up the food."

"Right. By the way, do you know what Gilbert, Eric, and Max need Negal for?"

"Oh, wow. Karen really did it. But I can't tell you. You'll have to ask Negal."

"Why can't you tell me?" Dagor took the stairs down to avoid the crowd at the elevators.
