"But?"Sera prompts.

"It's nothing, it doesn't matter."

"You can tell us if you want," she promises."Maybe we can help. You know what they say.A problem shared is a problem halved. And there are four of us, so it's really a problem quartered."

"I'm really not sure that's how it works," Posey says.

Sera shrugs."It depends what the problem is."

"True. But it didn't really help when Onion was going through her barking phase in the middle of the night."

"Where is Onion?"I ask, half-surprised that the fairy's familiar isn't with her, she sometimes brings the corgi to hang out with us.

"She's practising being home alone," she responds."I've got a camera on her."She pulls out her phone and taps a few buttons, turning it around so I can see the dog lounging all over her bed.

"She's so cute," I say.

"Of course you'd say that, she doesn't take all of your bed."

"Though maybe her new boyfriend does," Sera quips.

I shuffle in my seat."I guess that's part of the problem. So erm, I went to the cupid advice sessions at the union because I was having some issues with sex."

"I thought they dealt with romance?"Posey asks.

"They do."I take a deep breath."I'm asexual.I think.I'm not sure, I'm still working it out, but what I've learned about being ace does feel like it fits me.Anyway, that's a bit of an issue given this."I wave my hand down myself.

"Oh."Posey takes a sip of her drink, clearly using the time to think of more to say."Has he managed to help you?"

I shuffle in my seat."We tried, it didn't go well.I shut down, and he said it's okay, but I'm worried that it's not.And none of that changes the fact that I somehowhaveto feed my magic."The words come out thick and fast.I've been talking to Darius so much about this that it's actually nice to talk to my friends about it too.

"Is being around people who are into one another not enough?"Sera asks.

"Not as far as I'm aware. That seems to be how it works for cupids, and I can sense stuff from other people, like..."I trail off, realising that I don't want to mention what I can sense between her and Hugo.If she doesn't know that things have changed between them, it could make things weird. If she does and doesn't want to talk about it, then it could make her feel intruded on.I clear my throat."I've looked online and tried to find any talk of succubi feeding just by being around people who have recently had sex, and there were a couple of stories that made it feel like it might be possible, but there was nothing concrete, and nothing about how to actually do it, so I'm still in a clueless place."

"Have you ever tried?"Posey asks."Like properly tried. Not just sensing what people are doing, or if people are attracted to, but syphoning off the power you can sense from it?"

"That feels like a real invasion of privacy," I say.

"You can try next time Ceb stays the night," Evie suggests.

"I love you, but no way," I respond."It's fine.If I can figure it out, I guess I'll go back to the succubi and incubi club."I take a sip of my drink.

Surprise flits over Posey's face."That exists?"

"Oh yeah, it's designed for single succubi and incubi if they don't want to find a partner somewhere else.Though I guess they don't have to be single.Anyway, it's all designed for feeding."

"Wouldn't that suggest that youcanfeed off the energy without doing anything yourself?"Sera muses."Otherwise, why bother?Any succubi needing to feed could just go to a general nightclub and hook up with someone. It doesn't hurt to be fed off like that, right?"

"No.It's more like sleeping than eating, if that makes sense."

"Not even slightly," Posey says.

"Oh, right.Well I guess when you eat something, you need the food to make the energy. But when you sleep, you're just resting to get the energy," I respond."I'm not sure if that actually makes sense."

"It does," Evie assures me."Or at least, I think it makes sense. You're not taking anything from other people to make your own energy, it's coming from you."

"Yeah, pretty much."
