“A deal, huh?” she sassed, leaning into my touch. My heart rate went into overdrive. My dick was throbbing behind my slacks. All I wanted to do was move my hands all over her, my mouth on her lips and neck.

“I’ll order your favorite dinner, and it will be waiting for you by the time you get home,” I proposed and watched as her lips pulled upward into a soft smile. Fuck, I wanted to kiss her. Feel those plush lips on mine.

“And what do you get?”

“Peace of mind you’re safe and sound, tucked in at home.” She giggled at my answer, and I didn’t mind it. I was okay with her thinking I was funny. Soon enough, she would discover how serious I was.

“Okay, twist my arm.” She sighed. “Thank you.” I nodded. “But it feels like a very one-sided deal here. You’re not getting much in return.” Her eyes dropped to my mouth as she swayed toward me. Fucking hell, she was a living, breathing temptation.

“You have no idea how much I get knowing you’re safe.”And away from any man who might approach her in a grocery store. Her eyes went gentle, almost melty. I froze as her hand rose between us and cupped my cheek. Her eyes dropped to my mustache and those beautiful chocolate eyes of hers went gooey.

“You know, facial hair is very hard to pull off.”

“Is this your nice way of telling me I should shave the ‘stache?” I asked, my voice hoarse in my ears.

“No,” she whispered. Her gaze twinkled as our eyes met. “This is me telling you I think this looks really good on you.” Her thumb stroked the end of one side.

“Thanks.” My hands dropped to her hips, and she looked at me. “I’m keeping my word to you about not kissing you, Serena. Even if you’re trying to be cute and so damn adorable you make my teeth ache.”

“You think I’m cute?”

“I think you’re everything, honey,” I admitted easily. My guard was down.

All we had to do was wait for the sun to rise to kick this whole thing into lightning speed. I pulled her in closer, so close that when her eyes widened, I knew she felt what she did to me.

“Ronan.” My name came out slowly, almost like a moan, and I had to clench my jaw to keep myself sane.

“You’re gonna go home, rest, and we will see you in the morning.” My hands moved from her hips to her back. Fuck, all I wanted to do was wrap my body around hers and make her feel surrounded by me.

Loved and cherished by me.

I fucking hoped that’s how I made her feel.

“Morning?”

“Morning.” I nodded. She had no idea the three of us would be darkening her doorstep. “You okay with that?”

“I see you guys every morning.” She sounded confused.

“You know how Fox asked you to trust us?” She nodded, and I leaned in closer. Pressed my forehead to hers so we could see one another eye to eye. “You still trust us?”

“I do I just…”

“What?” I asked when she didn’t say anything else. “You just what, beautiful?”

“I just wish I knew what you three were up to.”

“My girl doesn’t like surprises?” I asked, and when she rolled her eyes playfully, she stole a little more of my heart.Who the fuck am I kidding? She owned all of it. Every little part. Had somehow made it grow even bigger.

“I do. I just…”

“The anticipation?” I guessed, and she nodded. “I get that. Trust me.” I pressed my body closer and felt her tremble in my arms as she felt just how hard she made me. “I understand all about anticipation being a bitch.” Her hands started to move between us, and on sheer instinct, I grabbed both her wrists and jerkily shook my head.

“Can’t I—”

“Baby, as much as I want your hands on me,”—my eyes shut for a moment as I drew in a long deep breath. Her soft, sweet scent filled my lungs, made me ache even more than I was already suffering—“I can’t. I promised you I wouldn’t confuse you even more with a kiss. No way I’m gonna let you give me a hand job in the fucking parking lot where anyone could see us.”

“Because you don’t want anyone to see us together?
