“Hey, kitty cat. Long time, no see,” Louis Civella says.

He sits on the leather sofa along the back wall of the VIP, his thick, gorilla arms spread out along the top of the cushions. He’s exactly like I remember him—huge. The kind of muscled enforcer guy so big he makes everything else around him look small and undersized.

Seconds pass us by.

I stand in shock and stare. Louis never even comes to the Dollhouse, let alone pays for services in the VIP rooms. He lives in New Jersey, for fucks sake.

Randalldidsay it wasn’t a regular.

I try and fail to recapture my bad bitch vibes. My face pinched, I say, “What are you doing here?”

“I hired you for the night. Is that okay?”

“But… why?”

He shrugs. “I wanted to see you. It’s been a while.”

“This is a mistake. I can’t… you can’t. You’ll get your money back.”

“I don’t want my money back.”

“Louis, you can’t afford me.”

“I already paid, kitty cat,” he says, standing up with one huge hand stuffed in the pocket of his jeans. His gaze skims the length of me, dragging up my many curves on display in my tight dress. “I have your undivided attention for the night, and I intend on collecting.”

I glare and fold my arms. “Too bad I always get final say. And that final say is no.”

He laughs. “Oh, c’mon. I’m not gonna mistreat you or make you do anything you don’t want to do. How about dinner?”

“Dinner?”

“You heard me.”

“It’s one in the morning.”

“How about a very late dinner? Or a very early breakfast depending how you look at it?”

A smile almost cracks onto my lips.Almost. “You’re serious?”

“Never been more serious in my life.”

Another stalling few seconds pass. I’m debating what to do. On one hand, Louis is off-limits. He’s always treated me well and even openly flirted. But Falynn was right years ago when she warned me about him—he’s a nice guy.

A gentle giant with a soft, good heart.

Asensitiveguy.

I’m a man-eater. I’d devour him for breakfast and spit out his bones like it’s nothing.

Louis wouldn’t know what the fuck hit him once I was through.

His best friend is my best friend’s husband. The situation’s way too damn messy.

I avoid messy at all costs.

But he paid for the night. He paid for all services. Enough money to change my mind.

I sigh. “Fine, but ground rules. First, Falynn and Gio never find out about tonight.”
