“For what? A kiss goodbye?”
“That too. But I’m waiting for my invite,” he said.
I chuckled. “Oh. Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?”
“I’d like that. Where are we going?” he asked.
“Do you like chicken wings?” I asked.
“I do.”
“Do you like trivia games?” I questioned.
“Love them,” he replied.
“There is a sports bar that holds couples’ trivia once a week. I usually go and watch, but I’d love to submit our names if you’re up to it,” I said.
“I’m very competitive. I’ll play to win,” he said.
“Good, because I don’t plan on losing.”
He kissed me before getting out of my car and heading to his Mustang.
It was done. I’d asked him out and he said yes. I even called it a couple’s event and he didn’t blink an eye.
I didn’t have any plans for today, which was good. I was exhausted today, and I wasn’t opposed to crawling back into bed for a short nap. When I got into the house, I opted for the couch. Not just because it was closer, but I knew the bedsheets would still have Robert’s scent on them and that wasn’t going to make me want to sleep. It was just going to make me want him.
I hope he spends the night again tonight. I miss him already.
