Page 60 of Run to Me

They’re so in sync that their eyes roll at the exact same time, and I shake my head before flopping down on the sofa and dragging Robyn with me. As soon as her ass lands on my lap she tries toscoot away from me, but I dig my fingers into her hips a little to stop her from moving. I couldn’t give a fuck that we’re in front of our whole family, this is where she belongs.

Chapter Thirty-One

Robyn

Dinner with Enzo’s family was completely different than I imagined. I expected tense moments and for his dad to be, I don’t know… scarier? That man was probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, though I’m sure there’s many people out there who would wholeheartedly disagree.

Once we sat down to eat, everyone laughed and joked with each other. I even heard Marco chuckle. Enzo had to physically close my mouth when my jaw dropped after hearing the sound. I honestly didn’t think Marco was capable.

And where I was expecting to be interrogated by his wild family, they gently asked me questions every now and then, yet were never too invasive. I’m sure they’ve done some background checks on me and know a lot already, but they stuck to questions they wouldn’t find on there, almost as if they actually wanted to get to know me.

We’re staying at Enzo’s penthouse tonight, rather than the apartment he has that overlooks my store because he wanted to show me the place in case I ever decided I wanted to live here in the future. He even made a comment about it at the dinner table, and no one batted an eyelash about how fast things are movingbetween us, they just continued on with normal conversation as if everything that's happened isn't completely insane.

Though I guess when they run the Mafia and literally had an arranged marriage not too long ago, we seem pretty normal.

If Lia knew what was going on with me, I’m not sure whether she’d high five me or have me committed to the nearest psych ward. She’s away visiting her family in North Carolina for a couple of months because her grandmother is sick, so I won’t find out for a while. Whenever we talk, I keep the conversation about her, only giving vague details about what’s going on with me.

The ding of the elevator pulls me from my thoughts and Enzo guides me out, I’m not sure what the hell I was expecting, but I wasn’t expecting the elevator to open up inside his living room. The place is a mixture of white, black and different shades of gray. There’s a large L shaped sofa pointing towards a huge tv that’s mounted on the wall.

The apartment is open plan, so I can see the kitchen from here, and it looks to be around three times the size of the one in the apartment we’re currently staying in, with a kitchen island that could rival the size of the kitchen in my apartment above the store. As well as being open plan, there’s full length windows, showing a beautiful view of the city skyline and traffic below.

“Say something, angel. You’re making me nervous as fuck here. Do you like it? Should I sell it? Should we keep it to use every now and then? What do you wanna do,uccellina?”

I turn around to gape at him. His expression shows his nerves, though I’m not sure why the hell he’s so nervous about meliking the place, it’s the most beautiful apartment I’ve ever stepped foot in, and that’s saying something considering I’ve been in Luca and Izzy’s.

“Why the hell would you move into the building we’re staying in when you lived in a place like this?” I ask incredulously.

His brows furrow. “I wanted to be closer to you,” he says causally, as if it’s the most obvious answer in the world.

“And you’d really move into the apartment above the store if I wanted you to?”

Though I don’t really want that to happen. Not only is that apartment far too small for the both of us, but because I’d be way too tempted to go down to the store on days I’m not working. After everything that happened that day with Enzo and Dean, I’ve taken a step back and don’t work the shop floor as much, as well as giving Dean a well-deserved raise in order to keep him on staff along with the promise I’d do my best to keep my “scary ass boyfriend”away from him.

“Of course. I’d do anything for you, Robyn. Just tell me what you want,” he says.

“You really do love me, don’t you?” The weight of everything he’s done for me and everything he continues to do hitting me all at once.

“More than anything,” he replies instantly, not even having to think about his answer.

“Obsessed with me?”

“No one’s ever been more obsessed with a person the way I am with you.”

“You plan on sticking around?”

“I want you forever Robyn, just try and get rid of me. I’d probably try, if that’s what you wanted, but I’d never be able to fully stay away from you. I’d end up going back to watching you from the shadows and from the security cameras I installed in your apartment before I finally snapped and just fucking kidnapped you,” he says with shrug, like that’s totally normal.

He’s crazy, and I freaking love it.

He’s mine.

I close the distance between us and grab his arm, dragging him to the longer section of the sofa and shoving him down before climbing on top of him.

“Jesus Christ, angel,” Enzo groans as I straddle him.

My lips tilt up in a smirk. “I think this sofa needs testing out before I make any decisions, will you help me test it, baby?”

His nostrils flare as the nickname slips from my mouth before he takes a handful of my hair and yanks my head down to his and takes my mouth in a punishing kiss.
