Page 23 of Room Thirty: Perfect Little Doll

But it wasn’t time.

We were almost there. There was a plan in place. We would take her to New Orleans, wine and dine her. Show her what life could be like with the four of us together. Then hopefully, if everything went right, we would end up at Club Sin.

Room Thirty would be waiting for us to have our first full complete scene. Together.

I hated the plan I had stupidly put in place.

“Fuck.” I swallowed hard. “I love kissing you.” My voice sounded scratchy. Like I had been smoking a pack a day for the last couple of months. Breathless and almost hoarse.

When I’d made my suggestion earlier, I hadn’t had her in my arms. Hadn’t had my mouth on hers. I hadn’t known how less than forty-eight hours could feel like a fucking century.

“You do?” she asked with a small smile. I loved the way her body was plaint against mine.

“It’s my new favorite thing to do,” I admitted way too fucking easily. So much, I hardly recognized myself. I wasn’t like Carey or Ronan. I might be charming when I needed to be, but it took me a long time to open myself up completely. But from the moment I had met Serena, I’d felt like I was an open book with her. She was different than anyone else, and I wasn’t going to play stupid mind games and risk losing her.

“Your new favorite thing to do?” She laughed softly. The sound filled more than my cock—it filled my fucking heart and soul. “More than gaming?” Serena asked. I couldn’t control the way my lips twitched. Gaming was my guilty pleasure, and she knew it.

“If I had to choose, I would choose kissing these beautiful lips and never need to pick up a game controller again.”

“See?” Her own hand moved upward, the pads of her thumbs stroking my scruffy jaw. “That’s why you’re the charmer.” She smiled. “I like this,” she noted softly. “You’re usually so clean shaven and clean cut.” My head tilted into her touch and my eyes fluttered shut.

“Worth waking up late because I couldn’t sleep just to have you touch me like this, baby girl.”

“All this baby girl stuff…” she whispered. I could feel her shaking her head, but I didn’t open my eyes. I didn’t dare because her hands felt that damn good.

“That’s what you are, Serena. You’re our baby girl. Our perfect little doll.” I opened my eyes and let myself drown in her dark gaze. “You’ll see.” My voice sounded grave. “One day, you won’t doubt our forevers and always,” I vowed. “That hesitation in your eyes won’t exist. Because we’re going to show you, prove to you day in and day out how much you mean to us. How important you are to us.”

“Fox, you can’t speak for the other two—"

“I can and I am,” I cut her off confidently. “Just trust me, okay?” I asked and held my breath until her head nodded, her silent agreement enough. “Good, baby girl.” I winked. “Come on.” I held her hand and pulled her toward the cup of coffee she had started.

It was already cold, and there was no way I was going to let her drink that. I started a new mug, choosing a K-cup of the coffee she preferred instead of the one she had popped in when she was obviously flustered by me. In comfortable silence, she leaned into my side while I made her a cup of coffee exactly how she liked it.

“Here you go.” I handed her the mug. Those beautiful dark eyes dropped to the mug between us and back up at me.

“You know how I take my coffee.”

“I do.”

“How? I’m the one who always gets you your coffee or orders it.”

“And I look at the orders. I study you. I am always watching. The three of us are always watching over you, making sure you’re taken care of,” I confessed easily.

“The last six months, none of you… I mean, why now?”

“Because we can’t keep fighting this pull. We’re done fighting it.”

“Done fighting. Fox, this doesn’t make sense.”

“Trust me?” I asked again, and I fell in love all over again with the way she stared back at me. Big beautiful brown eyes I knew I’d look into for the rest of my life, and she nodded again.

“I trust you. I trust the three of you, Fox.” I couldn’t stop the big smile that covered my face at her words. I leaned in and kissed the top of her head.

“Thank you. Fuck, baby girl, thank you. I promise we will make it all crystal clear soon. Just go with it. Explore this with us. I promise you won’t regret it. We won’t let you regret taking a chance on us,” I vowed before pressing my lips against hers, stealing one more kiss before having to walk her back to her office and returning to mine to wait.

Serena

I highlightedone last point and set the contract down. My eyes bounced from Carey’s office to Fox’ then to Ronan’s.
