“Shh.” I pulled back and pressed a kiss to her temple. “I like you, Serena,” my voice rasped.
I was fucking in love with her. She would find out just how deep my feelings ran for her. Only a couple of hours compared to how long I had been waiting for her.
“Serena, baby girl, working for us, you had to have picked up on the fact we’re not your average guys.” Her eyes flared and her cheeks reddened. “We’re a team. In and out of the office,” I shared softly, almost gravely.
Her eyes searched mine as I stroked the side of her head, enjoying the way she tilted into my touch.
“What does that mean?” she asked almost so softly I wasn’t sure if she’d said it out loud.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” I rasped and exhaled slowly. My hands stroked her back, up and down slowly. Soaked in the last few moments I would allow myself to have with her. The next time I touched her, had her on my lap, the guys would be with us, and we would be together at Club Sin
“Lunch was okay?” I asked, changing the subject. She watched me for a moment, and when she licked her lips, knowing my taste was on them, my dick jerked against her pussy. When she shivered, I knew she’d felt it.
“Lunch was perfect.” She blushed. I leaned in, needing to rest my forehead against hers, breathing in the sweet breath.
“Dessert was even better.” I winked, and she giggled.
“I should get to work.” She sighed, and I nodded. But neither of us moved from our spot. “Okay, then, umm…” She pressed her lips together and stood up. I watched, completely captivated while she righted her skirt and top. Pulling it down her toned, tanned thighs and tucking the material back in. Her hands moved to button one that had come undone in our little make-out session. My hands moved to her waist before I stood right in front of her.
“Promise me something?” My words piqued her interest.
“What?” she asked. I swallowed hard. “Whatever happens today, come tomorrow morning, you’ll give us a moment before you answer me.”
“What’s the question?”
“You’ll find out first thing tomorrow morning.”
“You’re talking in riddles.” She sighed, but her eyes never wavered from mine. My breath caught in my throat when her tiny hand rose, and she touched my face. Her touch felt warm and so incredibly soft my eyes shut for a moment.
“Serena,” I warned. My hands dropped from her waist and fisted at my sides. My time with her was up. I knew myself. If I had even five more minutes of her, the first time we would be together wouldn’t happen in Club Sin like we wanted.
“I know I’m not making sense.” I shook my head and rubbed the back of my neck. “Just, please, tomorrow morning, keep an open mind.” She opened and shut her mouth. Her big brown eyes widened and then softened.
“I promise,” she answered, and I felt a sweet release of relief. My shoulders dropped and I nodded.
“Thank you.” My voice dropped. Serena neared, and her hand took mine.
“Thank you for lunch and, umm, I’m going to grab the contract and go back to my office.” She squeezed it gently.
“Okay.” Everything in my body yelled at me to stop her.
Letting her walk out without kissing her again felt wrong. But I knew one more would be the end of me. One more taste of her tongue in my mouth, and I wouldn’t be able to stop.
She walked past me, grabbing the contract on my desk, and out of my office. Fox’ stupid fucking plan was going to kill me. I glanced at the big metal wall clock behind my desk and felt a muscle tick under my eye.
In less than forty-eight hours, she would be ours.
She would finally be ours.
Serena
I’d been readingat the same sentence of the contract in my hands for the last hour. None of the words made sense.
I wasn’t sure if I knew what I’d read for the last I had no idea how long. I glanced up at the clock in the office and frowned. It was getting late. Almost time for me to go home. I’d wasted too much time.
My mind kept wandering to Carey and the kiss we shared.
It had felt so right but wrong at the same time. It left me feeling confused. I wasn’t sure I knew what way was up.
