“Lionel issaying the same thing and I think Jenny will accept the offer.”A smile curved her lips. “I was thinking about maybe seven. Iam going to have to go home and take a shower and put something elseon.”

Chapter 14

“Are youprepared for the publicity us being here will generate?” Hereached for her hand and held it in his. She had dashed home toshower and find something appropriate to wear.

And had selected oneof the few dresses she had bought on impulse a few months ago. It wasa burnt orange deal with green stripes, with crisscross straps at theback. She had put on a light green jacket over it and applied somemakeup.

“I am, sortof.” She could not stop staring at him. He was wearing a lightblue cotton shirt and a dark blue sports jacket over faded denims andhe looked wonderful. “What kind of publicity are we talkingabout?”

He had looked forwardto this date while he was at the office and had found himselfglancing at his watch frequently. He had arrived a few minutes beforeher and gave himself time to calm down.

He had seen herwalking towards him and felt his heart tripping inside his chest. Hewanted her to bear his name and possibly his child. If it was toolate for them to procreate, then he would spend time lavishing herwith love.

“Our photos onthe internet and in the society rag.” He smiled at herteasingly. “I hope you are photogenic because I just saw areporter taking out his phone. And there are several more around.”

“Are theysupposed to even be here?”

“They haverights darling.” Lifting the hand wearing his ring, he kissedher knuckles.

“You lookravishing. Like something I want to eat for hours.”

“You are tryingto distract me.”

“Is itworking?”

“Probably. Tellme more.”

“I want toundress you slowly and start from those delectable nipples of yours. Then, I-“

“Nigel?”

She felt him stiffenbefore letting go of her hand and rising.

“Marla.”He gave a brief nod.

“Fancy seeingyou here darling.” Completely ignoring Ava, she moved forwardto touch his hand. The woman was stunning, raven black hair flowingdown her back and an emerald green dress clinging to her slendercurves.

Her skin was aflawless alabaster and the dress closely matched the sharp eyes. Hercoral painted lips curved into an intimate smile as she leaned in topress them against his. “I have been meaning to call you, but Iwas out of town for several weeks.”

“I would liketo introduce you to my fiancée, Ava.” Moving away fromthe woman, he reached for Ava’s hand.
