“Morning to you,” I reply. “How did you sleep?”
“Like a baby. Speaking of, how’s our child doing?” she asks.
“Just fine. I think he’s growing by the day, maybe it’s time we invest in a bigger bed for him.”
“Perhaps so,” she laughs. A loud rumble from her stomach rings through the air.
“I’ll go get started on breakfast. Take him for a bit?” I ask.
“Come to Mommy,” coos Kyra to Traisius. He gurgles softly as she takes hold of him.
I throw on a tank top and make my way to the kitchen. There, I open the pantry and remove some gallus eggs and slices of dripir bacon. Once I have everything seasoned, I throw them into two separate pans. A pleasant, mouth watering aroma travels through the air, catching the attention of my lover and our son as they whip their heads to me.
“Don’t worry,” I laugh. “It won’t be long.”
I fill a pot of cold water and put it over the cooker, filling it with some grinded kaffo beans. It very quickly comes to a boil, releasing a nutty aroma into the air.
I grab a block of cheese from the cabinet. I cut through its soft white flesh and place a few slices onto plates for me and Kyra, as well as one small slice for Traisius. I remove the pan from the heat, dishing out everyone’s portions.
“Alright, breakfast is ready,” I call out.
Kyra takes a seat at the table, placing Traisisu in a baby chair while I lay out the food. I take a seat across from them.
“Let’s eat,” I say, taking a sip of kaffo before digging in.
We each take turns feeding our son as we eat.
“Here comes the tasty dark elf!” I say, spooning some eggs into his mouth. Kyra burst out laughing.
After breakfast, Kyra brings our son to his cot for his usual post-meal nap. She then retreats to the bed, shooting a suggestive look at me. She needs not say a word to tell me what’s on her mind.
Looking after a child is full time work in itself, so Kyra and I don’t have much private time to ourselves. Whenever we get the chance, even if it’s just ten minutes, she and I make love. After half an hour passes, I’m laying in bed with her body draped over mine.
“That was so good baby,” she whispers, planting a kiss on my cheek.
“Is it bad I wish Traisius fell asleep a little more often?”
She laughs, slapping my arm.
“We should head out for a walk. Let’s bring him along, show him some places we may not have seen before.”
“Sounds like a plan,” I reply. “I’ll pack some food for us, we’ll make a picnic day out of it.”
“That’ll be so sweet! I’ll get him ready.”
I pack a basket with nimond beans, berries, more cheese, and bread. After getting dressed, I sit patiently on the end of the bed, basket in hand as I wait for the others.
“Zy!” calls Kyra from the bathroom. “I need a hand.”
“Coming my love!”
I open the door where my nostrils are assaulted by a foul stench. The air is seized from my lungs and my eyes sting with tears as the laughter of Traisius rings through the air.
“Oh my god!” I exclaim.
“Hold his dirty diaper for me!” asks Kyra.
“I only changed it this morning, foul creature!”
