Page 19 of Risky Behavior: Submitting to the Ruthless Guard

“Dead, and I’ll kill you along with every other motherfucker in this place. Do you understand me?”

“You can’t take her. I bought her. She signed a contract.”

“Let’s consider that null and void.”

My gun never moved from his head. For once in his life, Miles Carter looked as if he would make the right decision, and then he didn’t.

“What do you want? Money? I have plenty.”

“No. I’d rather you dead, but for now I’ll take Talia. Here’s what’s going to happen. You are going to sit in that chair in the corner. Talia is going to change back into her clothes,” I said as I gave her a small nod and watched as she ran off to the bathroom, “And then I am leaving with her.”

“My men will kill you.”

“You don’t have any men. They all belong to me now. The two at the door were the only two left who didn’t work for me. You are done, Carter. This is over. If you are smart, you will keep your mouth shut and move on with your life. However, I highly doubt that will happen.”

I pointed my gun at his knee and let out another shot. This time, he fell to the floor in front of the chair.

“I told you to sit. Now stay like a good dog.”

Talia came running out of the bathroom and didn’t even spare another look in Carter’s direction. I held out an arm, and she wrapped herself around me as I turned and we walked out of the bastard’s room with nothing but his screams in the background.

Once I had her outside and in my car, she looked over at me with tears in her eyes. “Where are we going to go?”

I didn’t answer her, but picked up my phone and called Beckett.

“Hey, is everything okay?” he said as he answered.

“I needed to move Talia sooner than expected.”

“When?”

“It’s already done.”

“Are you sure that’s a good idea?”

“He didn’t leave me with a choice.”

“Is she okay?”

“She will be.”

“Okay, I’ll send the plane.”

“We need to lie low for a while. I didn’t kill him… yet. I was thinking of your place in Canada. Only temporarily.”

“Yeah, of course, that’s fine. I’ll let them know to expect you.”

“Thanks, man.”

“I’ll talk to you soon.”

I put the phone down and reached my hand out for Talia’s. “We are heading just outside of Toronto. Beckett has a place there.”

“Is that where Raven is?”

“I don’t think so. But you can call her in the morning. We just need to get moving tonight.”

Talia nodded her head and looked out the window. We sat in silence the entire way to the airport. She had nothing with her, so the only way for us to even get on a plane was by flying privately, and even that was a risk when going international. I picked up my phone again. I knew just the person who could help.
