“You look really panicked.”
“It’s just a large project,” I sigh as I run my fingers through my hair. “I want to make sure it goes smoothly.”
“Okay.” She says the word slowly and looks me up and down before shaking her head and smiling. “Anyway, I wanted to ask if you would like to walk with me in the gardens, for old times' sake?”
I chuckle. “I would love to walk with you in the gardens.”
She holds her arms behind her back and smacks her lips as she sways back and forth cutely. “Will you come with me now?”
I nod and stand from my desk. “Absolutely.”
“Great.” She smiles widely, and I follow her out of my study, glancing back at my desk and sighing in relief.
She takes my hand and leads me out into the gardens. Since our new residents moved, we have an abundance of talented gardeners in our midst. They have done wonders for maintaining and growing the garden, which looks spectacular.
We walk past the flowers and new, flourishing trees springing from the ground to a clearing between the red bushes lining the sand. My mouth drops, and I laugh as we step closer, shocked at what I see. Siara has laid a blanket on the ground with candles lit all over the garden, and I look closer and see a basket on the corner of the blanket.
I grab her and stop walking toward it as I pull her close, my hands pressing her against me.
“Thank you,” I whisper.
“Always,” she comments as she leans in to kiss me.
I let her lead me to the blanket and sit on it across from her, straightening my back and stretching my neck from side to side as the tension in my body lifts. She always knows how to bring out my calmness when I need it most.
“So…” She begins as she opens the basket and hands me a stacked sandwich. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
Shit,I think as I take the sandwich from her and unzip the plastic bag.She wants to go to Ikoth or return to her home. Wait, could she be pregnant? I would be so happy. No, she must be upset that I’ve been working too much.
“I wanted to talk about the trial and everything that happened.”
“Siara,” I reach for her hand, my heart thudding. “I never got a chance to tell you how I feel about lying to you. Sorry doesn’t begin to cover the anguish I put you through. You deserve more than being treated well, you deserve to be treatedright, and I will do everything…”
“Asmodeus.” She cuts me off with a broad smile as she takes my hand in hers tightly, running her thumb across my skin. “I know you’ve been feeling this way, and I wanted to bring you here to tell you I forgive you. I wanted to apologize because I only wish I could have helped you sooner somehow. I understand why it all happened, and I know you’ve grown exponentially since the day you called on Oltyx, and even though he’s one to crave misery and destruction…” She motions to the garden with her hands. “He didn’t win this time. we did.”
“I love you,” I say quietly as I lose myself in her eyes. She widens them and giggles as she leans in close to me.
“I love you too, King Asmodeus.”
I grab her waist and pull her on top of me, her thighs straddling me as I dive into her lips with mine, pouring my soul into her body with each breath. She locks onto me, her hands spreading comfort and safety across my body. She’s my body armor, a protective shield that keeps me from pain and misery. She’s the sunrise that wakes me to new possibilities each morning, the sunset behind us that marks another day passed with love and companionship.
Her body glides over mine, and my hunger for her passes the threshold of control. My hands slide to her ass, pulling her over me more as I yearn for her soft, welcoming body. I breathe out heavily through my nose as she moans lightly before pulling back from her.
“Can we go upstairs?” she asks feebly.
“Yes, please.”
I kiss her again before leading her quickly out of the garden and back to my chambers. Once inside, I pick her up and press her against the wall hard. My fingers intertwine with hers, representing our physical connection transcending into the spiritual realm. Everything with her has meaning, even the slightest of touches. Each is a stroke of abundant love, an ever-flowing fountain I must drink from for the rest of my life.
I walk her to the bed as she drags her lips along my neck, deepening my need to absorb her love. When I first met her, I told her I would steal her soul. Now, I want to share ours equally, divide them between two bodies separated by skin and bones. As I lay her on the bed, I realize her lips send shocks through me like the storms outside.
Our clothes rip from our naked skin, and I press against her, the softness of her skin providing a safe landing ground for my heart. I move my hands over her breasts, her nipples poking through my fingers as I pass my fingers over them lightly. She runs her hands down the lines of my chest, spreading them outwards as she reaches my hip bones.
My tongue plays with her nipples, making her hands grip me tightly. I grind against her soft lips poking out from her inner thighs. I slide into her, and our foreheads press together as I rock our hips in slow motion. I throb inside her and feel her clench around me as she scratches my back with her fingernails, digging into me.
She deserves to be the queen of Galmoleth. She will be recognized for her bravery and ambition and set an example for all who follow us. She deserves to be the one I spend the rest of my life loving. More than anything, as I look into her eyes and our bodies connect on the deepest level, I begin to believe that I deserve her.
