Page 53 of Triplets for the Dark Elf

Indie gasps. “Mama lie?”

Miothro drops down to his knees, smoothing back our son’s hair. “Not exactly. She was… just keeping my secret for me?”

The triplets turn to him. Maeve speaks first. “Se…secr…se-ket…?”

He chuckles. “Yes. I’m actually— well, the truth is that I’m your dad.”

I watch in amusement as they all blink at him curiously.

Indie is the first to piece it together. “Mae-be’s skin,” he points to his sister. “Like yours?”

He nods. “Yes, that’s why her skin looks like mine.”

Maeve gasps, looking down at herself. “Ohhhh!”

Indie grabs her hand. “Mae-be like Mimi!”

“Like Mimi!”

“Like Dad,” Miothro interjects but they ignore that. I giggle.

Hazel looks between them. “But… we not?”

He scoops all three of them into his arms again, grinning at their giggles. “You’realllike me. And your mom. You may all look a little different but that’s okay. That’s what makes us all a family.”

My eyes start to water again. Gods, I love all of them so much.

“We family now?” Hazel lifts her head, looking between both her father and I.

I smile at her. “Of course. We all get to be a family now.”

“Speaking of which,” Miothro shifts slightly, keeping all three kids draped over his lap but pulls one of his arms away from them to extend towards me. “I wanted to ask you. Officially.”

My hand instinctively reaches out and grasps his in my own. “What’s that?”

His smile softens. “I want you to be my mate, Annalise. I love you so much. I don’t want us to ever be apart again. I want to raise our family together with you by my side for the rest of our days.”

My eyes widen. “Y-Your… mate?”

He nods. “Will you? Be mine?”

Oh gods, the tears really start to pour down my cheeks. I nod quickly, sucking back a small laugh that almost comes out as a sob.

“Yes. Yes of course I will, mon lutin.”

My heart is so full.

As we get settledinto Miothro’s –our– penthouse, Dinobo catches wind of it.

It isn’t long before an invite to Imris’ farm is extended to us and we’re heading out to go meet the rest of his family. I’d met Dinobo on several occasions but had hardly ever interacted with Imris. He’d been gone on some mission by the time I really began working for Miothro and entangled in his marriage shortly after he returned so there had been little time to really get to know him.

All I knew was that he’d had two children – twins – with his human mate, Charmaine and was out living very happily raising their kids on their farm. It made me laugh once Miothro had told me about that and I’d joked that not only did human mates run in the family, but apparently multiple babies too.

There must be something in the water with those two.

As we arrive at the farm, a woman with beautiful dark skin and a curvy figure with her hair half tied back from her heart-shaped face, comes to greet us. “You made it!”
