Page 40 of Orc's Pride
Even the thought of dragging Dana down there sent a chill down my spine. I wasn’t about to subject that to her, nor any other humans that live here. It isn’t fair, nor could I realistically justify the decision.
All of this is jumping to conclusions without any evidence to back it up. And that’s not how we do things around here.
Not on my watch.
“Enough.” I put my hand up, stopping them all from arguing. “When Old Malik gets here and confirms whether or not the humans here are a risk, then we can figure it out. Until then. I’m not risking locking up innocent people. It’ll create unnecessary chaos.”
“I think you’re being biased, Pitha.”
A growl leaves me. “Excuse me?”
Iman stiffens his shoulders. “You’re living with a human, right? The spy. How can you be objective about this?”
“I’m always objective when it comes to the people living inside of these walls. Don’t forget that.”
He bares his teeth at me. “You can’t say that when you’ve got one at home bending over for you whenever you snap your fingers. There’s no guarantee that she isn’t working for them secretly, waiting for the chance to rise up and conduct an army of humans against us!”
How dare he. “Excuseme?”
To evensuggestthat Dana is anything like that is grossly misleading. Not to mention that she’d be more than happy to kick me in the balls than bend over and offer herself to me if I so much as suggested she do so with a flick of my wrist.
My mouth opens to snap back at Iman, but I don’t have to. Because before I know it, a fist is already connecting with his face, snapping his head back and crumbling him to the ground.
I look over, seeing Gor standing over him.

Pitha
Inwardly, I want to groan. Outwardly, I growl.
“Enough. All of you.”
Gor huffs down at Iman, a startlingly violent look crossing his face. “We don’t disrespect females like that, regardless of their race.”
I have to admit that the look on Iman’s face is truly priceless. He slowly picks himself up off the floor, his metaphorical tail between his legs as his eyes never leave the ground.
“Apologize.” Gor demands.
Iman sighs. “Sorry…”
“To our Chieftain.”
I grunt. “Gor—”
He fixes me with a look that immediately has me shutting up. I allow for him to glare down at Iman until the orc is turning and lifting his eyes towards me. “My apologies, Chieftain.”
I open my mouth, ready to tell him to fuck off for the day when a loud boom has us all jumping. The entire building rattles from the force of it, causing some of us to stagger in place.
“What the fuck was that?” I growl.
Gor is the first out the door and down the stairs leading to the outside entryway.
I’m right on his heels, my hand already reaching for my weapon as he pushes the doors open and steps out into the sun. There is chaos everywhere, orcs running in all sorts of different directions as screams erupt around us.
In the distance, there is a large cloud of smoke billowing up from inside of the base—the source of the noise, from what I’m guessing.
“Gor,” I let go of the strap at my hip. “Send someone to investigate—”
