“Oh… you had a guest overnight.”
“I did. But he’s gone now,” I stated.
“Should we meet up for coffee so you can give me all the spicy details?”
“I’m just about to cook myself some breakfast,” I said.
“Excellent, even better. I’ll be there in ten minutes. I like my eggs scrambled. See you soon,” she said, ending the call.
Great. I’m still stuck making breakfast without the benefits of dessert afterwards.
I pulled out the frying pan. Wait till she finds out she’s doing the dishes.
As I prepared the breakfast, I couldn’t help but wonder, what if Joey had been correct and I was having a baby? I wanted children, but not right now. I was only twenty-four and had plenty of time to start a family. There was so much I wanted to do and see first.
But if I did have a baby, I’m sure Clark would make beautiful children.
I chuckled to myself. He’s probably less ready than I am.
Considering this morning’s mix-up, I was glad he’d left before I returned. It would’ve been awkward for us both. And he probably would’ve hightailed it back to Boston.
