“I know. I’ll do my part, but you will have to work with me. Got to go. The drink orders are backing up. I would hate to have to terminate myself for not putting business first. See you tomorrow.”
She ended the call and right away, I regretted agreeing to this.
I was just about to put my phone on my nightstand and head for the shower when it buzzed announcing a text message.
If you’re going to hound me all night about tomorrow, I’m not going to show up.
As I looked at the message, I cringed.
TRISHA, I WAS JUST CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND AND WANTED COMPANY. I COULD COME BY YOUR HOUSE, OR WE COULD MEET AT A HOTEL.
Marvin wasn’t getting it. I hated doing it, but if I did not, I knew he’d keep trying.
This is for your own good, Marvin.
I DON’T WANT TO DATE YOU AGAIN. I DON’T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU. IT’S NOT HAPPENING TONIGHT OR EVER. IT’S BEST IF YOU DON’T CONTACT ME AGAIN.
Waiting a few seconds and debated what to do. Then I blocked his number. Whatever his response was going to be, I didn’t want to hear it. I had tried being polite before, but this wasn’t my issue. Marvin had assumed way too much and as far as I was concerned, the only thing he should be doing is apologizing to me, not still trying to get in my bed.
And I thought his conversation was lame. His charm was lacking even more.
The only good thing about Marvin reaching out again, somehow made me look forward to going out tomorrow night. I might not score a date, but it can’t get worse than tonight.
