She shook her head. “Making sure we have something fun to discuss over dinner.”

My cell phone chimed, and I pulled it out of my pocket. It was a text from Katherine. “What is this?”

“Danielle’s cell phone number. Surprisingly, Lori had no issue sharing it with me.”

“I said that I didn’t want you to do that,” I reminded her.

“You’re welcome,” she smiled. “We’ll expect an update after you call her.”

“Katherine, I hope you’re not going to make butting into my personal life a habit.”

“Of course not. Well, not unless you screw it up and I need to fix it,” she said.

I gave up. There was no point in arguing with her. This is going to be a long pregnancy if she’s going to use my life as a distraction.
