I turned to him, not quite understanding why he asked. “I think it’s best if we don’t discuss that stuff.”
He dropped his gaze, leaning back in his seat. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.”
“Why did you?”
He sighed, running a hand through his short hair. “Why are you with him?”
“Why are you with your wife?” I countered.
“I don’t really have a choice.”
I nodded, understanding that all too well. “Marriage isn’t always about love.”
“You said you didn’t love him,” James said quietly.
“No, but that doesn’t mean that I can do anything about it either.”
“Then it looks like we’re in the same boat.”
