One last night to savor her, cherish her, make her his own. One last night with the woman of his dreams.
Ghost helped her to her feet, and wordlessly led her back to his cabin.
CHAPTER 21
Becca stood in the bedroom, her heart racing as she watched Dom move toward her. The reality of the situation had hit her like one of the pounding waves she could still hear outside on the beach.
Tomorrow, she’d be gone. There was no avoiding it. No second chances. She’d leave him, and everything between them would become a memory.
But right now, here in this moment, he was still hers.
Her eyes traced the hard lines of his face, the stubbly shadow that covered his jaw, his soft lips and that low-burn in his eyes. She wanted to memorize every detail, every inch of him, commit it to memory so she could unpack it later, when she was alone.
He reached for her, sending a shiver down her spine. Her heart swelled as she moved into his arms. She didn’t know how she felt about him, only that he affected her in a way no man ever had.
Ghost could see it, too. He didn’t have to say anything. It was all there in his eyes—those dark, intense eyes that made her feel things she hadn’t felt in years.
"Are you sure?" His voice was low, almost rough. Like he was offering her one last out, even though they both knew what was about to happen.
She nodded, her throat too tight to speak. Words would ruin this. Words would make it too real. Right now, she just wanted to feel—feel him, feel this moment—and forget about what was waiting on the other side of dawn.
When his lips met hers, it wasn’t like before. This kiss was slower, softer. No urgency they’d shared in the past, just a sense of savoring the moment.
His hands moved over her back, drawing her closer until their bodies crushed together, heat building between them.
She felt like she was falling—into him, into this moment—and she didn’t want to stop. Not yet.
She was breathless when he broke away. Slowly, he undressed her, slipping the dress off her shoulders and leaving it to sink with a soft sigh around her ankles.
His heated gaze roamed over her body, making her tremble with anticipation. It spoke of all the things he wanted to do to her, that he was going to do to her, before they parted ways tomorrow.
Then, he undressed, peeling off his shirt, then tugging down his cargo pants, never once taking his eyes off her. Her stomach tightened as desire swept through her body. When he pulled her down onto the bed, she was so ready for him.
A soft sigh escaped her as he ran a hand over her curves. “You’re so goddamn beautiful,” he muttered, and she could see by his eyes that he meant it. Then he lowered his head and kissed her. A deep, sensual kiss, nothing like the frenzied moment they’d had before. There was nothing rushed about this. He explored her mouth, savored her taste, as if they had all the time in the world.
But they didn’t—that was the part that stung the most.
She traced the ridges of his back, memorizing the feel of him—the solid strength of his body, the way his muscles flexed beneath her touch. He felt so good.
Real. Hard.
All man.
Breaking away, he kissed his way lower, leaving a hot trail across her feverish skin to her breast. When he sucked her nipple into his mouth, she felt the heat all the way to her core. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she arched her back as delicious sensations spread through her body.
She heard a moan and realized it was coming from her. That was a first. She’d never been a moaner, but Dom made her feel things nobody else did, and she couldn’t help herself.
He moved his attention to her other breast, and she couldn’t contain herself anymore. Reaching out, she buried her hands in his hair, pulling him toward her.
“Easy,” he murmured, between gentle tugs on her nipple. “There’s no rush. I want to enjoy you.”
Except he was driving her crazy. She writhed against him, helpless and overwhelmed by emotion.
Eventually, he took pity on her, and lifted his head, or maybe it was because he couldn’t contain himself any longer.
“You’re driving me crazy,” he murmured, as he lowered himself onto her.
She was driving him crazy?
