There’s no better time to appreciate this fact than Christmas.
The doorbell rings and I head to the front door to greet Ernest and Marcel. They both come baring a basket of gifts for the kids and other items like mulled wine for the adults and a side dish for dinner.
We sit down as a family at the dinner table and enjoy good food with great company. Serena is talking Ernest’s ear off about a poem she wrote for school.
“Mine was… the teacher said, Grandpa, mine was best,” she says in her tiny voice.
Ernest’s face shines with pride. “That’s my girl. Smart as your mommy was at your age.”
Meanwhile, Dominic’s telling Marcel all about his game for his soccer team.
“I scored, Uncle Marcel!” he brags, eyes wide. “I made a goal and our team won! We get a pizza party.”
“Watch out, future superstar,” Marcel says. “Somebody’s got talent.”
Stitches and Sasha are busy appealing to Delphine and me about their latest argument. Stitches proposed but Sasha hates the ring.
“It’s a family heirloom,” Stitches says, shrugging. “It holds significance.”
“It can hold significance without it being my engagement ring.” She rounds on Delphine. “Delphi, help me out here. I deserve my own ring, don’t I?”
Delphine sips from her cider as if stalling for time. “I think the two of you can come to a compromise.”
“See! Even Mrs. Phi doesn’t agree with you,” Stitches says.
“It means Phi doesn’t agree with you either,” I point out, then I palm her knee under the table. “It means we’re staying out of it. We’ve got a baby to worry about.”
Stitches laughs. “Any names yet?”
“We might keep with our tradition. D names for the boys. S for the girls.”
“You know, my name starts with an S.” Stitches waggles his brows. “It would make for an interesting story.”
“We’ll think about it never,” I say, and the others laugh.
We’re up late into the night celebrating the occasion until finally, one by one, we turn in. Delphine takes the kids up for bed. Ernest yawns and announces he’s getting too old to stay up past a certain hour.
I’m the last one to head up. I’ve checked all the windows and doors and made sure security’s on shift for the night.
The door falls open for me to step through, thinking nothing of the moment.
…until I step inside and see Delphine waiting for me on the bed. She’s naked for my viewing pleasure, in nothing but shiny red ribbon that’s strategically wrapped around her body. Her full breasts hang free, nipples erect and puffy. Her pretty plump pussy’s covered by the ribbon, though I can make out the outline of her lips. The fuzzy little patch of hair it only partially covers.
My eyes travel down every curvy inch of her, my cock immediately twitching in my pants. I twist the lock on the doorknob and step forward.
“It looks like Santa delivered my present early,” I say.
“The real question is, are you ready to unwrap me?”
She smirks sexily as she leans back on the bed, propped up by her elbows, and spreads her legs. Nothing but a thin strip of shiny red ribbon obscures her from view.
Tension rolls through me, winding up in my jaw. I unclench and clench it shut, suddenly overcome by the urge to shred the ribbon to pieces with my bare hands.
But I want to enjoy the moment as well. Enjoy the present that is Delphine and her sexy body, round with my child.
“I’ll unwrap you,” I say. “And then I’m going to devour you. You don’t know what you’ve started.”
Delphine giggles as I approach and lean over her for a kiss. I capture her lips, my hand at rest on the base of her throat. Our tongues meet in a massage, stroking against each other’s in leisurely fashion.
