Page 17 of Snowed In with My Ex

“Shut up and kiss me,” she demanded.

I didn’t hesitate. We had a crap ton of shit to talk about and figure out, but I gave her exactly what she wanted. Because if anything, I could give her this.

I could work at being the man she needed.

The daddy she craved.

Allie

“Shut up and kiss me.”I couldn’t believe I’d just said that.

I’d told him, no, I’dorderedDaddy to kiss me!

I had no idea where the words were coming from or what the hell I was doing. I had to be the world’s biggest idiot. Asking, demanding, and begging wasn’t beneath me either, the man I’d been crying over the last month to kiss me.

But when his lips touched mine, all the doubts and worries melted away like a dewy spring day. Winston’s talented mouth didn’t hesitate to take control of the moment. Maybe it was the snow, or the cold, or the fact that nothing but darkness surrounded us, but kissing him made sense.

He loves me.

He needs me too much.

Winston deepened the kiss, simultaneously pushing through the seam of my lips and thoughts. His tongue invaded my mouth. The taste and heat of his mouth only ignited my need for him. I just got myself off in the bathtub to the thought of him, but kissing him? His mouth on mine? That alone was so muchbetter than a fantasy. Before I knew what was happening, I clung to him.

Win’s dark, long-sleeved henley was soft and thick. Too much of a barrier between us. I started to pull at it, silently begging him to take it off, when he pulled away, ending the kiss.

“Allie.” His voice sounded strained, but I was too caught up in the moment to stop.

“I’ve missed you, too,” I admitted, confirming just how stupid I was. I’d partaken in delicious no contact cake for nothing! The first chance I had, I folded like a cheap suit. All with one kiss.

“Please, Win,” I pleaded against his lips.

“That’s not what you call me,” he murmured. I opened my mouth, but for some reason, I couldn’t get myself to call him Daddy. Not yet.I licked my lips instead and took a deep breath. He held his body tightly, his hands on my lower back.

“Maybe you’re right,” I said, breaking the silence that had fallen between us.

“What?” His brows bunched. I could see the wheels turning, Win trying to read me in the darkness. But with the windows behind me, my expression was blocked by the lack of light. I shook my head.

Maybe I needed a moment. A breather. Some space to clear my head.

“We should figure out the power thing.” I somehow stringed the words together. His hands tightened their grip on my body before it relaxed and he stepped away. Cold air moved between us, and I had to bite away a shiver that drew its way over me. Win and I glanced out the window, and I gasped at the sight.

“That’s a lot of snow.” I should have looked at the weather a little closer. My head had been so filled with thoughts of Winston, I didn’t pay attention like I should have.

“It’s a bad storm.” His hand brushed mine before I looked back at him.

“A bad storm sounds about right.” I shrugged. Winston stood so close his arm brushed against my shoulder. My nose dipped down so I could sniff the collar of the jacket he had put on me, and my eyes fluttered shut. His familiar scent filled my lungs, pulling me in, making me yearn for things I shouldn’t. I stepped further away from him.

“What if we get snowed in?” I asked out loud. Our eyes connected. Despite the darkness, I could see him. His gaze felt intense. I shrugged off his coat. “Umm, here. You should take this. I’m going to go change.”

“Thanks.” He cleared his throat. “I’m going to check if there is a backup generator in the back or something.”

“Right.” I stared at him. My feet felt glued to the hardwood floors beneath them. He slipped his jacket on, and when he turned, he took my hand in his. My breath felt like it was stuck in the middle of my throat. He opened then quickly shut his mouth, almost like he had changed his mind on whatever he wanted to say.

“I’ll be back,” his deep voice rasped. Everything inside of me wanted to lean into him. To get closer and absorb his body heat.

“Wait.” The word slipped past my lips before I could stop myself. I squeezed his hand. I didn’t like the idea of him going out there all alone. Is that safe? Does this mean he’ll be leaving?“Are you staying here?” As worried as I was about him going out to the elements, I wasn’t sure what I wanted his answer to be.

“After I check about the generator, I’ll try and find out about the roads.”
