Something came up and I had to leave! Sorry for bailing, but enjoy your night with your new man.

My brows furrow as I read over the text. It’s not like Lia to just bail out of nowhere.

Is everything okay? You should have come back, and we’d have left with you too if you needed me to come with.

Her reply comes in instantly.

Lia

All good, girl. Have a good night xo

I sigh and lean back into Enzo, he must have been reading the message because he circles his thumb on my hip bone before murmuring in my ear, “Does this mean we can leave now?”

I barely nod my head before Enzo shifts me off of him and stands, throwing me over his shoulder and starts to leave the club, leaving Jax behind without a word.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Enzo

It’s been over a week since Robyn agreed that she was mine. Eleven days of waking up with her every morning, spending days and nights learning everything I can about her. Eleven days of fucking the ever-loving shit out of her every night and it’s been the best eleven days of my goddamn life.

There was a small part of me that thought that maybe my fixation with her would wane over time. But, if anything, my obsession has only grown. We’ve settled into our own routine where we’ll both go out and work during the day and we’ll eat dinner together when we can before falling into bed, falling into each other. There’s been a couple of nights where I’ve had to be out all night to do jobs for my family, but on those nights, I try to text her when I can and make sure I double security at the apartment.

She’s still living with me since we still haven’t dealt with the assholes that call themselves the Blue Vipers. Though I think I’m gonna have a fight on my hands when we have, because there’s no way in fuck I’m going back to living in an apartment without her. I’ll just move into her small box apartment above her store if I have too, but I’m not going back to waking up without her in my arms.

“Are you listening?” my dad’s voice pulls me from my thoughts, and I focus my attention back to him.

We’re in his office—me, Marco and Luca—discussing the Blue Vipers. Luca came back to work a few days ago, though he isn’t working as much as he used to. It’s more him wanting to spend as much time with Izzy than it is due to his injury.

“Sorry,” I mutter. “What were you saying?”

I see Luca roll his eyes in my periphery, but he keeps his mouth shut considering he gets lost in thought a lot too these days.

“I was saying that we’ve finally nailed down their location.” Well now, that’s one way to keep my attention. “We know where they’re based and when they’ll be there, and considering they went after your girl, I’d think you may want to pay attention.”

“I’m listening,” I growl, a million thoughts invading my mind of what I’m going to do with the assholes who thought they could lay their hands on what’s mine, who thought they could fuckingsellwhat’s mine.

“They operate out of an old, abandoned building in Brooklyn. From what we can tell, they now have around sixty members, and their numbers are still growing. We have someone on the inside, and we know that on Saturday night they’re hosting an initiation for new recruits at their base of operations, every member will be there. This will be the best time to hit them, getting to them all at once rather than trying to weed out members. I was thinking that Luca,” he turns to my eldest brother, “you’ll stay behind.” Luca opens his mouth, ready to object, when our dad keeps talking. “I know. I know you want to come, but I was thinking it would bebetter to have you stay at your apartment with Izzy, and have Enzo drop Robyn off there beforehand so we know both the girls are safe.” My brother thinks it over for a second before giving him a reluctant nod.

“Good, now I’ve got shit to do, so we’ll meet up in a couple of days and hash out a plan for what we want to happen.”

The three of us stand, ready to leave his office when he calls my name.

“Before you go, I just want to say something.” I look back to my brothers and they both nod to me before Marco closes the door behind them, but I don’t take a seat since I’m antsy as fuck to get the hell out of here and go see my girl.

“I know you want to get out of here, so I’ll make this quick. I know when you first…metRobyn, I wasn’t exactly supportive of your choices. You’ve always been a wild card, and I’ll admit I was worried. But I can see how much you care for her, and considering she’s stuck around, I’m going to hazard a guess and say she cares for you too. I just want you to know that she’s welcome as a part of this family. You should bring her over for dinner, let me meet her and introduce her to the rest of the family properly. We all just want what’s best for you, is she that?”

“She’s the best thing that ever happened to me, she’s my life, and I’ll never let her go.”

The guard I have on Robyn sent me a message to let me know that my girl’s working late, so I decided to drop in and surprise her with her favorite Indian takeout.

Once I enter the closed store, I look around but Robyn’s nowhere to be seen. Leo’s standing in the corner where he has a direct view of the inside of the store, the entrance and the door leading to her office and upstairs apartment.

“Where is she?” I bark, though he’s known me for long enough to know not to show a reaction to my tone.

“In the back office with Dean, boss.”

I’m sorry, what?
