That was our other secret. It seemed one amazing heat with a pack that was truly mine had turned into us preparing for the arrival of not one baby, but three.
“That little boy is going to have to have one strong backbone to stand up to two girls. They can be bossy,” Cameron joked, giving me a wink. He was always calling me bossy, though we all knew Maverick was the bossy one.
“I had to work extra hard to keep up with you guys. I think they’ll balance each other out well,” I said. “I think we did.”
“You know what, you’re right,” Cameron said, pulling me into a hug. “Congratulations, Avery. You’re going to be an amazing mom.”
“And you guys are going to be amazing uncles,” I said.
We pulled away from the hug, and I swear I saw Nash blink away a tear.
“Now, how do I tell Mama?” I questioned. As far as she knew, I was pregnant and that was it. She didn’t know about the triplets or the genders.

“Oh, baby girl, I’m so happy for you,” she said, kissing the side of my head and not bothering to wipe her own tears away. “At least if you need any pointers, I’ve got you. And look at all these amazing people you’ve got around you. I’m so happy you came home.”
“Me, too,” I agreed.
When I came to Rockwood Valley, I had no clue what I was looking for. Space, closure, and to move on in any way I could.
What I found was so much more.
I had a career now that I was loving, a pack that supported me in every way, and now we had three babies on the way and a packhouse big enough to fit us all.
The magic of Rockwood Valley continued to surround me, showing me that this was truly where I belonged.
