Chapter 41

"Coco?" Peer carriedTyr out to the living room after looking in the bathroom. "Where the hell are you?"

She'd been in bed with him when he went to sleep.

Tyr cried at his rough voice. He put his son down on the floor with his toys. Finding his phone on the counter where he left it after coming in earlier, he spotted a note.

Thinking it was from Coco, he inhaled a calming breath.

Thanks again for the pep talk and letting us be a family again — Kelli

"Hell," he muttered, crumbling the paper.

He called Coco. After three rings, it went to voicemail.

He texted her. Waiting several minutes without a reply, he called Lizzy.

Roar answered, telling him Lizzy was feeding Hanne. He stared at Tyr and said, "Have you heard from Coco today?"

"Nei. We just got up. Did she have plans with Lizzy?"

"Not that I know of." He walked to the bedroom. "She's not here."

"Is her car there?"

Shit. He hadn't checked since getting up. Hurrying back to the living room, he looked out the window, and his head pounded.

"She's got her car," he said.

"Maybe she ran to the store."

"Nei. Not without telling me first."

"Do you want me to call over at the clubhouse and get some men together and go look for her?"

He inhaled through a tight chest. "No, but call over there and see if Holly can come to the house and watch Tyr. I have no way of getting him there. Once I got him taken care of, I'll go and try to find her."

He disconnected the call. Not knowing where she would go, he called Tyr to follow him. The walk down the hallway took too long. Once he was inside the room, he shut the door to keep his son in view and got dressed the rest of the way.

Pulling out a pair of socks, he found the envelope that was buried at the bottom of the drawer sitting on the top of his underwear. He looked inside and pulled out two tickets and two passports.

"Ah, Jesus Christ." He shoved everything back in the drawer.

Quickly, he pulled on his socks, tied his boots, and slipped on his Slag vest. Then, he scooped up Tyr and ran back to the living room and found his phone, looking at the time.

It was nine-thirty. The plane left in an hour and a half. He'd never make it to the airport, park, and find her in that time. Not if he had to wait for Holly.

Tyr whined. He set him on his feet on the floor and called the clubhouse.

Rune answered. Peer said, "Get over here. As fast as you can."

"On my way."

He called Coco's number again. "Come on, answer the damn phone."

Tyr walked into the kitchen, crying. He blew out his breath. Coco always got up and made his son breakfast.

Knowing Tyr had to eat, Peer grabbed the box of graham cracker bears and took a handful out and put them on the tray of the highchair. Then he buckled his son in, tapping the tray to get his attention on the food.
